Swede Hill - Austin, TX
Residential development in this part of Austin began in the 1870s when a number of Swedish immigrants built homes near their downtown businesses and called the neighborhood Svenska Kullen (Swedish Hill). Many historic houses remain in the neighborhood, which was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. Bounded by 12th Street on the south, 16th St. on the north, Comal St. on the east and I-35 on the west, Swede Hill is within short walking distance of downtown, the East 11th and 12th Street revitalization districts, yearly East Austin artist studio tours and public celebrations, libraries and historic landmarks. It is less than one mile from both the State Capitol and the University of Texas campus.

Delwood
