Granbury, the county seat of Hood County, is known for many lakeside homes and all the convenience of living just 40 minutes outside the DFW Metroplex. The city boasts several beautiful golf courses, its own small airport and a historic square dating to the late 1800s. What to do in Granbury
Granbury is alive with action ranging from dinner cruises on the Granbury Riverboat to plays at Granbury Opera House. The city is home of to Brazos Drive-In Theater, one of only 12 drive-in movie theaters in operation in Texas. The authentic 1950s drive-in is open Friday through Sundays- just in time for residents to take advantage of a movie during their free time. There are also plenty of museums within Granbury to entertain the history buff, including the city’s first building at the town square. But for those who enjoy the outdoors, Granbury is perfect too, as it offers golf, the “Moments in Time” hike and bike trail and water sports on the lake.
Granbury Schools
Granbury Texas is served by Granbury Independent School District. The district has four elementary schools, two intermediate schools, two middle schools, one ninth grade center, and one high school. Half of the campuses received recognized ratings from the TEA for 2007, and the rest were named academically acceptable.
