In the past seven years the city population is estimated to have grown by more than 60,000 residents, making it a contender for one of the fastest growing cities. A 2007 study done by Forbes declared Frisco Texas to be the eighth-fastest growing suburb in America. Frisco Texas is an affluent suburb that serves as a commuter city for the Metroplex, while also developing its own retail arena, such as Stonebriar Centre and IKEA. With a steady growth in population and business, Frisco TX real estate is booming, especially near the new Frisco Square that will become the new downtown of the city.

Things to Do in Frisco Texas

Whether you want to watch the Dallas Stars of the NHL practice, learn to play hockey or just take your family out for a day of skating, the Dr. Pepper Star Center is the place to go. Other family entertainment places include Strikz, a new center featuring 32 bowling lanes, laser tag, video arcade, media room, karaoke stage and billiards.

If you would rather spend your day in the sun, there are four large community parks and ten neighborhood parks that have hike and bike trails, outdoor amphitheaters, sports complexes, as well as nature gardens. Everyone needs to go to the Texas Sculpture Garden and International Art to see the 38 sculptures that wind around the lake, depicting some of the city’s history.

Frisco Schools

Frisco Texas is served by Frisco Independent School District. The district has 25 elementary schools, seven middle schools and four high schools. Frisco ISD is the fifth top employer in Collin County and educates nearly 25,000 students each year. More than half of the teachers have over six years of teaching experience and 20 percent of the staff have advanced degrees. Test scores continue to improve at this ISD and soar above state and national averages. Better yet a majority of the seniors take at least one college entrance exam, and 90 percent of the seniors plan to further their education some way following high school.
