Should you buy an existing or new DFW area home?
New isn't always better. Each have their own pros and cons. What's important is looking at your personal reasons for wanting one vs. the other.
Existing homes are usually in more established neighborhoods where the landscaping is mature, the personality of the neighborhood established or the proximity to areas important to you is a given. You may also find more diversity in construction from the houses surrounding you, adding to that neighborhood charm. Then again, upkeep may be more expensive and replacement parts hard to find from time to time.
New homes, on the other hand can require less maintenance and be engineered for today's efficiencies - air conditioning, heating, solar, etc.. Many times they also come with builder warranties as do the internal appliances (with their manufacturer's warranties). Most new home builders also provide you with an enormous amount of choice to help personalize your home - everything from floor plans to coverings, to cabinets and tile.
Depending on the location of your new home, you may be in a new subdivision where community pools and parks are common. Of course, if you are in a new subdivision, you may also need to pay for a home owners association which will help protect home values by imposing various architectural or landscape restrictions on the community.
Let our home experts show you the ideal new AND existing home for your lifestyle. Then you can decide for yourself. After all, don't you deserve it?
